CAYS Recreational Soccer

Recreational Soccer is designed to introduce beginner players to the game of soccer and teach the fundamental skills of the game.  Players are divided equally among the teams based on their skill level and will receive equal playing time during games.  Coaches will focus on player development and improvement throughout the season.  Practices will be held one night per week and games will be held on Saturdays.

The Recreational Soccer Program will provide playing opportunities for youth who are too young, do not choose, or are unable to play in the Travel Program & teach fundamental soccer skills in a nurturing, fun environment.

The fundraiser is REQUIRED for all participants and the fee will be collected at the time of registration. This fee can be refunded upon completion of the fundraiser.

Registration ends Sunday, March 3, 2024, but a $15 late fee will be added beginning Friday, February 23, 2024.

No refund will be given after Sunday, March 31, 2024.

Ages: 4 - 12 years old

Member Fee: Ages 4 - 6 = $80* / Ages 7 - 12 = $100* (*price goes up $15 beginning: February 23, 2024))

Non-Member Fee: Ages 4 - 6 = $100* / Ages 7 - 12 = $120* (*price goes up $15 beginning: February 23, 2024))

Evaluations: Evaluations will take place the week of March 11, 2024 from 5:15 to 6:00 p.m. March 11th U13 Girls, March 12th U13 Boys, March 13th U10 Girls, March 14th U10 Boys

The age groups are determined by the year your child was born.  For the 2023-2024 soccer year, age groups are as follows:

  • U5 Division | Born in 2019 & 2020; this division is co-ed
  • U7 Division | Born in 2017 & 2018
  • U10 Division | Born in 2014, 2015 & 2016
  • U13 Division | Born in 2011, 2012 & 2013

The U5 division is co-ed.  All other divisions are separated in to male and female divisions whenever possible.

Fall Season runs from mid-August through the beginning of November.

Spring Season runs from mid-March through the beginning of June.

Practices are held once a week for an hour on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.  No practices are held on Fridays.

Games are held on Saturdays between 9AM and 3PM (times vary each week.)  One or two games may be scheduled during the week between 5:15PM and 7:30PM depending on the number of teams in each age group.

All practices and games are held at the George B. Stuart Athletic Fields located at 1213 Rockledge Drive, Carlisle, PA 17015.

No smoking is allowed at the fields including the parking lot and the bathrooms.

Every child who is registered by the deadline will be placed on a team.  We hold evaluations that help us determine each player’s ability level, and make teams with mixed abilities.  No evaluations are held for the U5 and U7 divisions.

Following the evaluations, CAYS staff form the teams based on the evaluation scores and schedule requests as indicated when you registered.  Our main goal is to make the teams as even as possible, and we do not focus on keeping teams together from one season to the next.

Shin guards are mandatory for all practices and games.  Your child should bring a soccer ball to practice (see below for correct size.)  Soccer cleats are not required, but are strongly recommended over sneakers (baseball cleats are NOT allowed.)  Players are encouraged to bring a water bottle to practices and games.

The registration fee includes a jersey, administration fees, equipment purchases, and field maintenance/upkeep/lining. The fee for U13 also includes: referee fees.

The fundraiser fee is collected at registration for all participants.  The fees are $30 for the first child, $15 for the second child, and $0 for any others.

Yes, you can.  If you complete the minimum requirement for selling sandwiches, your fundraiser fee will be refunded to you.
